ABOUT BRANDON

BRANDON WEINBRENNER (he/him) is a Houston-based director and producer and currently serves as the Associate Artistic Director at Alley Theatre. Brandon joined the staff at the Alley in 2013 and has immersed himself in the Houston theatre community. Directing highlights include breaking Alley Theatre box office records for Clue and Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily, earning Houston Press Best Director nominations for The Humans (Alley Theatre), The Royale (Rec Room Arts), and The Children (Rec Room Arts), and developing and directing Theresa Rebeck’s Enlightened in a workshop production at Alley All New Festival in 2020. Brandon is a founding producer of Alley All New Festival back in 2016 and is thrilled it is still developing and launching exciting new work to this day. Prior to Alley All New, Brandon was a part of the inaugural team for The Ground Floor, a new play development program at Berkeley Rep, where he served as the Bret C. Harte Directing Fellow. Brandon is also proud to be part of the team behind the partnership between University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance and Alley Theatre as they launch their 3-year MFA in Acting Program, culminating in a final year at the Alley. This feels full circle for Brandon, as he was a graduate of the University of Minnesota/ Guthrie Theatre’s BFA in Acting Program, and he continues to believe in applicable relationships between regional theatres and collegiate theatre programs.
